You may have heard the saying “the parent is the child’s first teacher”. At Summit School, we recognize that parents are vital to every child’s learning experience. From creating a home environment that values learning; to listening and respecting children’s opinions; to modeling the principles of our Core Virtues curriculum – families create a foundation for every child’s education.
Partnering With Parents
Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their school have better attendance and behavior, get better grades, demonstrate better social skills and adapt better to school. Summit School teachers and staff work alongside parents to support our students’ learning. Our small-school setting enables us to know every student – and their families – by name. We’ll reach out to parents to coordinate free after-school tutoring or other support if we see their child struggling with a subject. For students who could benefit from enrichment, we’ll work with parents to identify opportunities to extend learning inside and outside of the classroom.

Volunteer With Us!
Summit School parents and caregivers are invited, but not required, to volunteer in our school. We offer a variety of opportunities that accommodate the schedules of working parents and busy families. From helping with in-class reading support and field trip chaperones; attending teacher conferences or book fairs; or coordinating off-campus food and clothing drives; there are lots of ways to be involved at Summit Classical School.
