Tuition Free Charter School Fountain Inn

About Summit Classical School
Summit Classical School is a public classical charter school that opened in Clinton, SC in fall of 2019, and is a short commute down the road of about 25 minutes for parents of children residing in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Enrollment is now open for the current and future  school years for K5-6th grades. We opened with kindergarten through third grades, or typically 4-9 year old’s, and intend on adding a grade each following year. We offer a classical education using the Core Knowledge curriculum.  With close to 6,000 residents in Fountain Inn, we would like to extend an opportunity to enroll your child into our Charter School.

What is Classical Education?
Classical education depends on a three-part process of training the mind. The early years of school are spent in absorbing facts, systematically laying the foundations for advanced study. In the middle grades, students learn to think through arguments. In the high school years, they learn to express themselves. This classical pattern is called the trivium.

Summit Has Moved In!

OUR STORY

We have moved into our wonderful modular building and are so excited for all that is happening at Summit!

Watch this video about Classical Education below and let us know if you have any questions about classical education or what we do at Summit.

Conversations about our children and the kind of education that we want for them is what sparked us to pursue starting a charter school. We all want a school that fits the needs of our children and the desires of our families. School choice is something that we feel is very important for parents. We have choices for everything else, why shouldn’t we have choices when it comes to our children’s education?

Through the generosity of several donors, we have already secured a location. The building is in the heart of Clinton but is in need of renovations to be able to pass code as a school.

Through generous donations from the building owner and local families, we were able to install new energy efficient windows throughout the building. This is a huge improvement to the old broken windows that took up so much of the building. We are finishing up the windows in the next two months. Since replacing the windows, renovations have continued at the hands of local volunteers and families that want to see the school up and running again.

At its April 20, 2018 public board meeting, the Charter Institute at Erskine Board of Trustees voted to conditionally approve the Summit Classical Charter School Charter application. The School is proposed to open in July of 2019.
